Goodbye Mr. Heston

Almost no time landing at the gigs after my "long weekend" I learn that one of the greats of cinema has gone. Yes, I am referring to Charlton Heston. A Charlon Heston recent years who were not treated well, as many of those of his time, ridiculed by Michael Moore, almost senile as president of the National Rifle Association, which missed its active participation in the struggle for civil rights in the 60's.

I do not judge the person. I have not believe in icons or myths, or if I am aware of them going to the bathroom. But I must admit I love his movies, many of them. Technicolor films as "The Greatest Show on Earth", "When roars the scrum" or "Ben Hur." But among them all my best memory of this actor is in "Planet of the Apes, Tim Burton film with its remake fully loaded and stripped of his message, his critique of human nature. But that may be good reason for another post, but now I do not want to talk about it. As I said, always remember to Charlton Heston as "Ben Hur" or as Colonel George Taylor. " In this film, I remember not understanding the first time I saw her, and my mother was horrified one name, but I found rummaging two sentences that I elevated to mythical status.

The first is when Taylor, after half the film could not speak, he suffers with a lack of understanding of the world around him, exclaimed:

"Take off your stinking paws off me, damn filthy ape!" A whole

release for him and for viewers.

And the final sentence which shows its critical not only apes but also all those who contributed to it:

"Oh my God. I'm back. I'm home. All the time was ... I finally did. Maniáticos! She was flown! Damn! God damn in hell! "

As I said before, do not expect my heroes, myths are admired as I imagined. I have not think so, why Charlton Heston will always be "Ben Hur" trying to give water to Jesus Christ in the crucifixion or the Colonel Taylor screaming at the world to its knees on the beach
